I’ve been teaching 3rd to 8th graders at Mountain View for many years now. I’m excited to be part of a school where there is a community of staff members who truly care about each other and our students and parents who support the school in a number of various ways. I team teach with Misty Houlsen who teaches 4th grade ELA and social studies, and I teach math and science. I use Responsive Classroom and Restorative Justice techniques with students to help them build community, structure, and routines. I have a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Maine at Machias.
I’ve spent the summer this year in California where most of my family lives. My Grammy is turning 100 years old this August. I have 3 grown children Jonathon, Sheila, and Claire and 5 grandchildren Natalie, Rihanne, Ellie, Jackson, and Opal. Sheila and her family have lived in Fiji for a number of years and are coming to live in Maine for a season. I’m overjoyed!!
